DAY SIXTY ONE | CONFIDENCE – 4

Psalm 4:7, The Lord puts gladness in my heart.”

The fourth conviction that produces confidence in our lives is that God has placed His spirit of joy within us. Joy is the infallible proof of the presence of God. In His presence is fullness of joy. When God is with us He puts His joy and gladness in our hearts.Whatever we are facing in life can be overcome, and we know we have the victory through Christ. Therefore we have this incredible joy and gladness that the victory is ours. Stop claiming the battle as yours, because the battle belongs to the Lord. However the victory is ours and can be claimed as such. You prove you have claimed the victory in life by manifesting a victor’s heart of joy and gladness.

We can actually rejoice during a time of challenge more than our enemies rejoice in their prime. To know God’s amazing strength and power is to have a confidence beyond natural understanding.

When our 27 year old son Andrew died of cancer, people expected Marion and I to fall apart, but we knew God had a purpose in and through it all, and so we allowed Him to put gladness into our hearts. His joy became our strength and His gladness became our song. God will give you joy and gladness to get you through the darkest night if you will allow Him to do so.

Do not fill your heart with worry and fear, but allow God to fill your heart with joy and gladness and you will find a confidence to go on even through the worst situations.
