Psalm 4:1 “The Lord has relieved me in my distress.”
There are a number of convictions found in Psalm four which help us live with confidence in God. The first has to do with trouble and hard times. So often we allow our troubles to undermine our confidence in God and we can then become very introspective and self-judging. When something difficult comes your way you need to express confidence in a number of areas.
A/ Confidence – God is working all things out for good, and that this is a trial of your faith, not your endurance.
B/ Confidence – God is enlarging you through this trial.
C/ Confidence – God will relieve you of the burden and pain of the trial, if you will refuse to take “ownership” of your distress.
D/ Confidence – God will carry your burden for you, through the season of trial.
E/ Confidence – you can actually take on more challenges, because God will relieve you of them as a burden.
F/ Confidence – God will have mercy on you and hear your prayer.
Confidence in life comes from inner convictions not outer circumstances. Winning has to do with believing the right things on the inside. Nothing shows up your real convictions more than a few tough trials. Our first conviction producing an unshakeable confidence is that God is working all things together for my good.
