WELCOME TO DAY TWENTY SEVEN | STRONG FOUNDATIONS

PSALM. 82:5 – They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.

The Bible declares that all created foundations are able to be shaken. That means that all of society’s foundations should not be trusted as the hope of your life.

The economy and banking system can fail. The law enforcement and judicial system can be corrupted. The education system can fail to train its students for life. In fact all of the foundations we build our society upon have in the past failed at some time or another.

God is teaching us to make sure we build our lives on the eternal foundation of His word. His word endures forever. It is true and it is the truth.

To put your trust in the devised foundations of man is to build your house upon the sand. As the currents of society change so the sands of created foundations shift to accommodate popular thoughts and trends. Created trends in regard to morals, for example, shift according to the morays of generational desires.

However God’s word never changes and is true for all generations. What God says is good, is good forever, and what God says is bad, is bad forever.

Do not let popular opinion sway your stance. Stay fixed upon the rock that will not roll. You can overcome and outlast a popular trend by building your life upon eternal foundations. Even when a popular culture sweeps through society the truth remains true, and most people deep down know whether something is good for them or not. Just because people crave a certain thing does not mean they believe it to be the right thing.

The Bible says the God has written His eternal law into the heart of every person born. It is therefore a deliberate decision to go against what deep down we know to be right. It is only after repeated offences that blindness sets in and abnormal behaviour becomes the norm.

The deep longing for truth and goodness is God’s idea to help us search for the right foundations in life. Do not build your life on popular concepts, but establish who you are and what you do on eternal precepts. The word of God endures forever and will never fail.
