WELCOME TO DAY TWENTY TWO | STAYING STRONG
PSALM. 27:13 – I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Ever lost heart in tough times? Life can deal some cruel blows to all of us. We are not exempt from the difficulties and challenges that can present themselves at various times.
The Psalmist David learnt an important lesson on survival. He discovered that BELIEVING in a positive outcome kept him from losing heart when things seemed impossible.
He believed to see the goodness of God in his life this side of heaven. In the land of the living! In other words, while you are still living there is still hope. Your heart needs hope to survive tough times. God has created us to believe, and hope believes.
Learn to hope for good things in life. Hope for the best in other people. Hope for tough times to soon disappear. Hope for good success in all you do. Hope for peace and harmony in your relationships. You see, hope believes for the best in everything. You can’t hope for bad things. Hope is positive and produces a believing heart. Hope believes. However hope is not some wishy-washy feeling. We do not spend our lives just wishing and hoping for something to happen.
Hope must believe in something of substance. David believed to see the goodness of God. His hope was fixed on his God being able to change his circumstance for good. Hoping to see the goodness of God is founded upon knowing God’s promises in His word. God’s promises of good become a foundation upon which we can hope and believe. Store God’s word in your heart and you will never lose heart again. Your heart will be fixed, unshakeable, immoveable and sure. Losing heart is for losers. Strengthen your heart with every good word from God and believe to see them become reality.
Today find a promise in God’s word and store it in your heart and then start hoping for good things to happen.
PRACTICAL
1. Write out five promises from the Bible that inspire you to hope for good success.
2. Memorise one promise a day until they are yours.
3. Share your positive promise today with someone you meet.
