JOB 36 : 16 – Indeed He would have brought you out of dire distress, Into a broad place where there is no restraint; And what is set on your table would be full of richness.
We are continuing on with our thoughts from Job on living in a large place. Job refused to allow the criticism and complaints of His friends to change His stance on God’s plan for his life. God has written His plan into our souls and it always involves living unrestricted lives in a large place. However we must grow and develop and see God’s plan unfold step by step. It is not some magic leap of faith, but a consistent walk of faith through many challenges.
The secret to growing and moving forward into God’s fullness is to enjoy what you now have. Your present table should satisfy you. It should be rich and full of the blessing of the Lord. Some people have such big dreams they are never satisfied with the journey. They are prisoners of hope. Always waiting for something better!
You must make up your mind to enjoy what you now have and do it with all your might. Make your present place a large place. Make today an opportunity to live large and unrestricted. Fill today with everything you can, and make up your mind that whatever is set on your table will be a wonderful treat from the hand of God.
You can turn a prison into a palace and a piece of dry bread into a banquet. Joseph turned every place God set him, into his destiny place, and so it all worked together for good and kept bringing him into his destiny.
Stop dreaming of tomorrow and make today your delight.
PRACTICAL
1. Write down seven things you can thank God for today.
2. Find someone close to you and think of three things to thank them for today.
3. Thank a stranger today who crosses your path in some way.
