WELCOME TO DAY NINE | HELP IS ON ITS WAY

ISAIAH 60 : 10 – The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls and their Kings shall minister to you.

There are times when it is necessary to look for outside help in life. When you have done all you can but it is just not working – it is time to turn to others.

In our scripture verse – God promises His people that a day will come when outsiders will help them rebuild their broken down things.

I am a great believer in people being responsible for their own outcomes. What you sow you will reap.

However there are times when circumstances overwhelm people and they are so cast down in life and need a helping hand.

It is in such times as this that we must hear the promise of God that “outside help” is on its way.

Consider the following;

  1. Never believe your cause is hopeless.
  2. Never pass up the opportunity to help someone else.
  3. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. (don’t qualify the help given)
  4. Never say no to anything. It is often just the first step.
  5. Never treat people differently. Labourers and kings are both needed.
  6. Never abdicate your responsibility to do all you can first.
  7. Never settle for second best.

You must be open to receive help from others at all times.

Often these helpful times are when associations are made for good times in the future.

Generous people are always helping others but are also able to humbly receive help when it is required.

Allow yourself to be helped by others and they will thank you for the privilege.

PRACTICAL

1. Write down the names of the people you have asked to help you on your Excel 70 journey.

2. If you have no names – you must stop and look at yourself – we do not win in life as loners. We all need the help of others.

3. Identify three people 1. An encourager (motivation)  2. A trainer (discipline)  3. A counsellor/prayer partner (support)

4. Are you serious about your need to change or not?
