WELCOME TO DAY SEVEN | SERVING YOUR GENERATION

NEHEMIAH 3 : 5 – Next to them the Tekoites made repairs; but their nobles did not put their shoulders to the work of the Lord.

Most successful people realise the value of serving a cause outside of their own endeavours.

A community or church expression or an aid society etc. gives people an opportunity to help build something that is ultimately bigger than what they could do alone.

Let me give you some principles for life at the top.

  1. Never believe that you do not have to mix it with the workers.
  2. Never believe your money buys your way out of being there.
  3. Never believe that anything worthwhile is ever accomplished without people “putting their necks on the line.”
  4. Never believe that your community will get better without your involvement.
  5. Never believe you will share in the rewards without putting in the hard yards.

I am constantly amazed at how many people have an opinion on everything – yet refuse to get involved in the solution when asked to participate.

No matter what your rank in life, be prepared to contribute to the corporate well being of your community.

During this EXCEL70 season – why not find a community or church group that needs your investment and involvement and help make a difference where you are.

PRACTICAL

1. Thank God for the blessings He has poured into your life.

2. Find a church or community group that would benefit from your gifts and time.

3. Readjust your weekly schedule to include some benevolent expression to help others.

4. Commit to going to the “coal-face” of your work environment and encourage someone doing the hard yards.

5. Write five thank you cards to people doing it tough – to encourage them.
